The Best Beaches in Batangas

While most of us dream to travel to beaches like Siargao and Palawan, the wisest way to maximize much-anticipated long weekends is to choose a destination that is in close proximity to the metro. That way, you wouldn’t have to spend almost a day of your limited vacation stuck in long car rides or stressed about delayed flights.

This makes Batangas an ideal choice. Just three to four hours away from Manila, this province not only boasts great residential opportunities like Horizon Residences but also numerous destination options when it comes to resorts. Whether you’re looking for white sandy beaches to sunbathe in, hoping to explore a new water sport, or simply want to sit back and watch the sunset on the horizon, this southern province will definitely not disappoint.

Having one of the longest coastlines in Southern Luzon, the province offers many beaches, islands, and dive spots that are a favorite among city dwellers and those who live for the weekend. Here are some of the amazing beaches that are worth visiting on your next trip to Batangas:

  1. Tingloy Island

Located off the coast of Anilao, in Mabini Batangas, Tingloy is one of the most popular beaches near Metro Manila and has become a favorite among backpackers and fearless travelers in recent years. Known for its white sandy beach called Masasa Beach, the place is still undeveloped and there are still no hotels or resorts on the island. But since many tourists are now visiting the island, some residents now offer their homes for overnight stay. You may also opt to bring a tent if camping is your thing. Just don’t forget to bring food and make sure your batteries and power banks are fully charged.

  1. Laiya

Laiya is one of the most developed beaches in Batangas. And it’s not hard to see why. Laiya is a seaside town that has been a popular beach destination for city dwellers for quite a long time. A tropical paradise within your reach, it has a long stretch of shoreline with cream sand beach, enticing clear water and a variety of fun activities tucked in natural settings. One could enjoy the many water activities that many of the resorts in Laiya offer such as jetski, banana boat ride, flying fish, among many others. A wide array of resorts is also available, from high-end beach resorts to affordable inns and lodges.

  1. Verde Island

Verde Island is part of Batangas City, but it is in no way as commercialized as the rest. Situated 45 minutes off the mainland along the bodies of Verde Island Passage between the islands of Luzon and Mindoro. It was in 1988 when a small village was connected to an electrical resource through the effort of a European project using technologies such as solar panels for the island’s self-sufficiency. It cradles a number of beach attractions that are almost untouched including Mahabang Buhangin and Cueva Sitio.

  1. Calatagan

Calatagan has probably the longest shoreline in the province of Batangas. Located at the western side of the province, it offers the best sunsets for everyone to enjoy. Calatagan was formerly titled as the Forbes Park of the South, because of the rich families who own estates there. The peninsula’s near white sand beaches are well-known vacation and leisure sites. There are also many beach resorts that cater to the needs of visiting tourists.

  1. Nasugbu

The town of Nasugbu is known for its beach coves and rugged mountains that meet the white sand shores and pristine blue waters. It is also a favorite among mountaineers for the scenic Mt. Batulao. The beaches of Nasugbu are among the first in the province to undergo major development. There are resorts everywhere, many of which have their own cove: Hamilo Coast and Punta Fuego, to name a few. But there are still beaches that are open to the general public. The beach is perfect if you want adventure and camping, if you want to be carefree and sun-drenched.
