Xavier Ateneo Sports Centre is Senate Consultation Venue

The Senate Committee on Charter Change led by Senator Kiko Pangilinan held the first Regional Consultative Hearing on Charter Change last February 22, 2018 at the brand-new Xavier Ateneo Sports Centre. The consultation was organized to allow concerned citizens to voice their opinions on Charter Change so that the Committee could present their findings to the Senate. Following the hearing in Cagayan de Oro, further consultations were scheduled to be held in Cebu, Cotabato, Baguio and Bicol.

The 2,000 seat Xavier Ateneo Sports Centre was inaugurated last December at the 13-hectare Pueblo de Oro campus of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (XU). The facility provides XU’s academic community a venue for sports and recreational activities. Among its amenities are retractable bleachers, basketball court, semi-Olympic-size swimming pool with shower area and locker rooms, eight-lane track and field oval, regulation size football field and parking spaces for over 200 vehicles.
