The ICCP Group supports the Department of Education’s (DepEd) K to 12 Program in pursuing the common goal of upgrading the quality of education of Filipino children to international standards especially in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and the Technical and Vocational (TechVoc) curricula.
In collaboration with DepEd, LGUs, locators of Light Industrial Science Park II (LISP II), DOLE and like-minded civic groups such as The Asia Foundation (TAF), IGFI developed a localized educational reform called, “Senior High School Industry Linkage Project,” in the form of job trainings, immersion programs and grant funds to contextual curricula. LISP II’s three biggest locators, Continental Temic Electronics (Phils.), Inc.; NEC Tokin Electronics Phils., Inc.; and ST Microelectronics, Inc. will be providing the relevant exposure and actual experience by sharing effective tools, technology, industry standards and strategies, including earn while-you-learn opportunities.
The ICCP Group is fully committed to working with the national government for the effective and successful implementation of the K to 12 program.
According to ICCP Group Chairman and CEO Guillermo D. Luchangco,
“The curriculum and immersion program shall be formulated and finalized within the year in time for the K to 12 Program implementation in June of 2016. This is a pioneering effort in the Philippines as admitted by DepEd and if this project succeeds, shall be replicated in other IGFI areas with industrial parks.”
